Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs use of Altox infrastructure and related services. It applies alongside the Terms of Service and any product-specific rules. Customers remain responsible for activity originating from their accounts and systems.
1. General principles
Use services lawfully, responsibly and without harming infrastructure, networks, other customers or third parties. Do not attempt to evade technical, security or billing controls.
2. Prohibited content and activity
Prohibited uses include malware, ransomware, spyware, phishing, credential theft, financial fraud, copyright infringement, pirated software distribution, child sexual abuse material, illegal marketplaces, unlawful gambling where prohibited, identity-theft tools and scam operations.
3. Web hosting
Do not use shared or reseller hosting as a general-purpose file-distribution platform, public download mirror, torrent tracker or seedbox. Do not run cryptocurrency mining where the service terms prohibit it, or scripts that cause sustained abusive CPU, memory, disk or email usage. Bulk unsolicited email and SMTP abuse are prohibited.
4. Game hosting
Do not use game servers to launch attacks, distribute pirated assets, run crash or exploit tooling against third parties, intentionally exhaust node resources or coordinate abuse against other servers.
5. VPS and VDS
Customers with administrative access are responsible for patching, authentication, firewalling and application security. Do not use VPS/VDS services for botnets, DDoS-for-hire services, spam relays, unauthorized brute-force activity, abusive proxy networks, mass external scanning or attacks against systems you do not control.
6. Dedicated servers and IPs
Dedicated infrastructure and IPs may not be used for spam operations, network flooding, unauthorized penetration testing, blackhat SEO abuse, open proxies or reputation manipulation. IP reputation must be protected.
7. Network security
Unauthorized DDoS attacks, booters/stressers, BGP hijacking, packet interception without authorization, ARP spoofing and exploitation of third-party network vulnerabilities are prohibited. Security testing is permitted only where you have authorization.
8. Colocation
Where colocation is offered, customers must follow the facility's physical security, power, cooling, networking and equipment rules. Do not install unauthorized hardware or interfere with shared infrastructure.
9. Resource abuse
Continuous saturation of CPU, storage I/O, bandwidth or other shared resources may be treated as abuse where it materially affects other users or infrastructure. Altox may throttle, isolate or suspend affected services while investigating.
10. Abuse reports
Respond to credible abuse notices promptly and provide enough information to investigate. A target response time may be specified by the notice or applicable service terms. Repeated unresolved abuse may lead to stronger enforcement.
11. Email and spam
Do not send unsolicited bulk email, use purchased lists for spam, spoof sender identities or operate abusive mail relays. Customers are responsible for authentication, reputation and compliance for mail sent from their services.
12. Security incidents
Altox may restrict a service without prior notice when necessary to contain active malware, compromise, large-scale scanning, network attacks or another urgent threat. Where appropriate, the customer will be informed and given a path to remediation.
13. Enforcement
Depending on severity, Altox may warn, restrict traffic, suspend services, revoke an IP, terminate an account or report suspected unlawful conduct to relevant authorities. Enforcement will be based on the available evidence and applicable law.
14. Customer responsibility
Customers must secure their services, keep software updated, monitor applications, control users and maintain backups. You are responsible for abuse caused by software, credentials or users under your control.
15. Updates
This AUP may be updated as threats, services or legal requirements change. The current published version applies subject to applicable law and service-specific terms.
